Major life transitions such as: moving to a new city, becoming a parent, retirement, ending of school, ending of a relationship, and entering or exiting the military are all examples of life transitions. They can range from sad to exciting and invigorating. Yet all transitions, even happy ones, can also be stressful and bring up mixed feelings. I try to help mitigate the stress during those transitions and encourage self-reflection and openness in this process. Often times, this work accompanies an ending or “loss”. My approach may include encouraging clients to discuss these losses, helping manage the adjustment period, and ultimately working toward thriving in their new experience.
